For your consideration is a scarce, special limited edition book that was earmarked by the Kennedys to be a Christmas 1962 gift. The book, entitled “The White House: An Historic Guide, ” was signed by both John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy as president and first lady. This limited edition copy is number 64 out of 75. The inscriptions and signatures read: For Chris with the affectionate regards of his friends John Kennedy and love from Jackie Christmas 1962. ” The inscription “and love from is in the hand of Jackie with the remainder of the inscriptions in the hand of John. The Kennedys held their official Christmas party on December 12, 1962. Kennedy presented each member of the Kennedy administration and very close friends with a stunning, red leather bound copy of the Executive Mansions’ story. The publication of this book was overseen by the first lady as part of her restoration and preservation of the White House. The signatures and inscriptions are in very fine condition and the dust jacket, book cover, and book pages are in fair to very good condition, respectively.
