These books have an exceptional old-world library aesthetic and display beautifully together on a shelf. The muted green bindings, period typography and softly aged cloth give the set a genuinely cinematic early 20th century appearance. An ideal decorative interior set for studies, libraries, bookcases, film props or vintage styling, whilst also remaining a highly readable literary collection from one of France’s greatest authors. Includes multiple titles from Balzac’s celebrated works / La Comédie Humaine series, translated into English and published by the respected J. Condition is generally good antique condition for age. The bindings show age-related fading, rubbing and marks commensurate with over 100 years of age. Internally there is foxing / age spotting throughout in places as shown.
