The set consists of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, 3 volumes slip-cased, 1950; The Later Adventures, 3 volumes slip-cased, 1952; The Final Adventures, 2 volumes slip-cased, 1952. Texts edited by Edgar W. Smith, introduction by Vincent Starett. Books designed by W. Dwiggins, illustrated with “A selective collation of the original illustrations by Frederic Doff Steele, Sidney Paget et al”. Sets were issued as #1427 of of 1500 copies. Octavo, paper-covered boards, cloth spines, glassine dust jackets. Books very good condition. Slip-cases mildly shelf-worn, rubbed edges, slight soiling. The glassine jackets are good to poor.
