Comes from a very clean non smoking home. We would rate the set as in very good condition except for one issue, the spine covers are brittle. When you open a volume it splits off from the book. Photos show this has happened to one volume. There are now three in this condition. Pages are crisp and clean. Original owner stamp pasted on inner front board that matches who the set was originally made for. Published by Parke, Austin, and Lipsomb, Inc. Beautiful stamp and signed and bound certificate page at the beginning of volume #1. It states: The Oriental Foundation certifies that the Members Edition of the Sacred Books and Early Literature of the East consists of two thousand numbered and registered copies of fourteen volumes each. This copy, no 175 was prepared for Theo Schirmacher. Signed by Lancaster, American Director. Detailed photos of Volume #2, Egypt, indicate quality of all volumes.
