Dark Forces 25th Anniv Edition Lonely Road Books Lettered PC (Stephen King)
A PC copy of the lettered edition of Dark Forces: 25th Anniversary Edition from Lonely Road Books, featuring (but not signed by) Stephen King. This is a bit of a publishing milestone – the lettered edition of the first book from Lonely Road Books, a spin-off of Cemetery Dance Publications with a much less frequent publishing schedule and a higher-end bent. A very nice package altogether, and sought after by both King collectors and the broader S/L and “nice books” collecting community. The traycase is a really beautiful gold color with red stamping. Check out the pictures! It’s in Near Fine shape, with only the barest bumping to the spine of the traycase – most other editions I’ve seen are similar, due to the large size and heavy book. The dustjacket has just great art, and is in perfect condition, but it’s hard to take a good picture because of the Brodart cover (which is one of the reasons it’s staying perfect, so unlike some other auctions I did not remove it to take pictures). The book is also Near Fine, nicely bound and with stamping. The boards and page edges are beautiful (pictures). The spine is Near Fine, maybe Fine because the slight lips on the top and bottom are due to the enormous page block (the pictures – look at them). The interior is pristine with the exception of a very small imperfection at the bottom of the first 2 pages (see pictures). They’re not even like creased or torn or anything – they’re actually pretty hard to see but I really strive for accuracy in my listings (which is why I post a lot of pictures of the actual book that you should go look at). Overall, this is a rare book, well preserved for the past 13 years, and a high note in the small press publishing world. It’s signed by a great group of illustrators, most especially Bernie Wrightson, the artist who produced the dustjacket art and is well known for his high profile Stephen King collaborations. This will of course be wrapped very nicely! It’s quite the beast and will receive the loving packaging it needs to be sure that it arrives to you unharmed. 1980 Introduction Kirby McCauley.
