September 16, 1984 was an American novelist, poet, and short story writer. His work often employs black comedy, parody, and satire. He is best known for his novels Trout Fishing in America (1967) and In Watermelon Sugar (1968). Brautigan began his career as a poet, with his first collection being published in 1957. He made his debut as a novelist with A Confederate General from Big Sur (1964), about a seemingly delusional man who believes himself to be the descendant of a Confederate general. Popular during the late 1960s and early 1970s, he is often considered the author to best characterize the cultural electricity prevalent in San Francisco during the ebbing of the Beat Generation and the emergence of the counterculture movement. Brautigan would go on to publish numerous prose and poetry collections until 1982. He committed suicide in 1984. Richard Brautigan has a dedicated Wiki page. Carp Press: Carp Press is the name of the self-publishing project of Brautigan and his wife, Virginia Dionne Alder. Alder was heavily involved in the production process. The address (461 Mississippi Street) was actually Brautigan’s home address at the time. The drawing of the small fish (carp) is by Brautigan. I was extremely fortunate to acquire an incredible Brautigan collection from a High End Collector. In the late 90’s this collector acquired many Brautigan items in collectible condition. Most are very hard to find items and some are Nearly Impossible To Find. This collector was always extremely selective about the items they bought for their private collections. They were also always very meticulous in the care of their collectible pieces. I will be listing a number of these items in the next few day. To see other items from this Owner’s Private Brautigan Collection Clicking this link. The Very Large photos are NOT stock photos and are of the actual item you will receive. Why is that important? I had somebody put in a Best Offer and added the condition “Thank You”, which was nice, but it kept their offer from being auto-accepted. Later that night, before I saw the offer, somebody else bought the item at full price. Check out my Feedback and you can see that I aim to please! Did I mention Satisfaction Guaranteed! From a SMOKE FREE & PET FREE location. You can look at my feedback and see all the compliments on how I package my items. I pack items with plenty of padding and make sure they aren’t loose in the box where they could get jostled and damaged. I cannot control the Post Office, but unless the package is run over or dropped from the Empire State Building, it will arrive in the same condition you bought it in. If you win more than 1 item from me, please contact me, before you pay so I can send you a consolidated invoice. SMOKE FREE / PET FREE!
