Two wonderful, matching, signed hardcover books titled: War Stories by Oliver North. Book one: Heroism In The Pacific. Book two: The Heroes Who Defeated Hitler. Both books signed by the author, Oliver North. These books are from The Easton Press. These are gorgeous hardcover books from the Collector’s Edition bound in Genuine Leather. The books remain in near-fine condition. Books feature full leather covered boards with raised bands on the spine with gilt text and decorations stamped in the compartments and with gilt 22 karat gold tool work on both the front and rear boards. Silk ribbon sewn-in book marker at the head of the spine. All three edges of the text block are in gilt. These are like new clean books.

The Book of Days of Llewelyn Powys, Thoughts from his Philosophy selected by John Wallis. First Edition 1937, Limited to 300, this book being number 236. Original quarter leather Zaehnsdorf binding, top edge gilt, contents complete with all 12 wonderful etchings. Measures 9.5 x 13.5 inches. Condition: The corners of the boards are slightly bumped and there is a bit of rubbing to the spine leather, tidy contents with no inscriptions.

Brilliant copy, overstock from closed Inde bookshop. The cover is well known to be horrifically light sensitive & fades to green extremely quickly. This is a mint copy with faint scratches on the cover from movement, unowned, from a box direct from the publisher. From John’s local bookshop which closed in 2010. It is not the limited edition which were mostly signed singly by Fay Godwin. A very special acquisition, especially for the new collector of either Fay. Or John’s work. NB Pale patch on photo 4 is unfortunately the sunlight NB see also the limited availability of the paperback edition. No “maybes” or “may not contains”, well packed for protection & never sent naked in plastic bags only suitable for newspapers. More than 2kgs doubles the costs & courier is preferable.

It is a original piece written in English, perfect for collectors of literature. The book is a one-volume edition and was manufactured in the United Kingdom. It is a great addition to any book collection and a must-read for those interested in literature and fiction. Was just there waiting for me to SELL! I CANNOT FIND any of this kind could be deleted edition perhaps? So it’s mid 19th century this sort of book that’s very valuable! Pages are all there great cond despite being over 65yrs old!

An absolutely amazing set in very good/excellent condition. Normally I’d be tempted to keep this, but I recently acquired a leather bound set of Dickens’ Works. I’m a huge Dickens fan and this is the second best uniform set I’ve found (Fireside Dickens is probably the connoisseur’s choice [I have one listed for sale at time of writing too], but this set has more illustrations). All volumes are generally excellent in terms of exterior, with only minor wear and tear. 3 (Oliver Twist/Child’s History), which has a small tear and some noticeable rubbing to bottom of spine (not major, but is definitely the outlier of the set and I wanted to draw attention to it). Volume 8 Christmas Books etc. And Volume 11 (Bleak House) have small scratches to spine (again, quite minor, but all other are only very very minor and generally clean). I haven’t forensically examined all books/pages, but from a fairly intensive check I’ve found only a handful examples of very light foxing. Some of the volumes have slight weaknesses to spine, but this is more of a case of hardback design and distribution of weight/number of pages than genuine damage. Otherwise, a bit grubby to page tips (I’ve not attempted to clean, but shouldn’t be an issue and appears mainly dust/grime from shelf life). Overall very good++ and a beautiful uniform set which looks amazing in a bookcase/similar. A very sought after set. Best of luck with any offers &####128077.
