LITTLE WOMEN BY LOUISA MAY ALCOTT. Original 1925 First Edition. “Little Women” tells the story of the lives and loves of four sisters growing up during the American Civil War. Based on Louisa May Alcott’s childhood, this lively portrait of nineteenth-century family life possesses a lasting vitality that has endeared it to generations of readers. “Little Women” is the story of The Marches, a family used to hard toil and suffering. Although Father March is away with the Union armies, the sisters Meg, Jo, Amy and Beth keep in high spirits with their mother, affectionately named Marmee. Their friendly gift of a Christmas holiday breakfast to a neighbouring family is an act of generosity rewarded with wealthy Mr. Laurence’s gift of a surprise Christmas feast. However, despite their efforts to be good, the girls show faults: the pretty Meg becomes discontented with the children she teaches; boyish Jo loses her temper regularly; while the golden-haired schoolgirl Amy is inclined towards affectation. However, Beth, who keeps the house is always kind and gentle. The novel tells of their progress into young womanhood with the additional strains of romance. This is the story of their growing maturity and wisdom and the search for the contentedness of family life. Part two, or Part Second, also known as Good Wives, follows the March sisters into adulthood and their respective marriages. The critical reception of PART I was overwhelmingly positive; critics soon began calling the new novel a classic. Readers clamoured for a second volume that would bring about a marriage between the main character Jo, and her childhood friend, Laurie. Alcott received many letters and even visitors at her Concord home, asking for a sequel. In response to this demand, Alcott wrote a second part, entitled Good Wives, which was published in 1869. The second part picks up three years after the events in the last chapter of the first part (“Aunt March Settles The Question”). Both parts were eventually called Little Women or Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy. While resisting the popular demand to see Jo and Laurie wed, Alcott did write marriages for three of the March sisters. In 1880, the two parts were combined into one volume, and have been published as such in the United States ever since. It has become a much loved classic tale and many of the trials of the sisters are all too relevant today as evidenced by its continued following. Published in 1925, this book is in fair condition for its age – nearly 99 YEARS OLD! All 312 pages are present!! It measures 6″ x 8″. Defects (as shown in photographs). The coloured picture in between pages 40 and 41 is torn with half of it missing. A small piece torn out at the bottom of page 297/298 and page 95/96. The cover is worn and discoloured. There is a torn section on the back cover. The binding is becoming loose in places. There is a small inscription inside front cover.

PLEASE READ ENTIRE LISTING, TONS OF IMPORTANT INFORMATION! Be sure to view my other auctions to see the other editions Including one inscribed to Mickey Rourke! This listing is for ONE BOOK (Specifically the book in the photographs). Book is hand SIGNED on the front endpaper by Fabian. This Edition is bound in an extremely gorgeous pebbled leather. It appears to be very different from the “Open Edition”. (From the photos I have found). It is also lacking the big publisher’s logo on the front board. I believe this to be a version of the “Deluxe” “Limited” Edition. It is a MASSIVE book. It is not the 12″x12″ version available on Amazon. It is approximately 15″x12″ and weighs approximately 10 pounds. I cannot find another “Deluxe” version for sale on the internet. It is insanely scarce! This book (As well as 2 others I obtained of this same title) have white edges. However, I have one copy (a separate listing). That has gold gilt edges. All other aspects are identical. I have not found another copy with gilt edges so, that only furthers my confusion on the “edition” of these books. Take a look at all of the photos and determine for yourself. They may be editions special to the publisher and/or Fabian I’m really not sure. They are absolutely BREATHTAKING. This book is “unread” but in used condition. While absolutely stunning, there is some shelf and storage wear. I have gone over every inch to the best of my ability, I have noted below, the imperfections upon close inspection. I have also included several photos to capture the condition. Leather is a bit dusty, Could use a gentle cleaning. Dents, curling edges, and other imperfections to the Dust Jacket. Back of Dust Jacket has more surface wear than the front. It almost looks like brush strokes and may very well be intentional. Minor Finger prints, smudges, etc also present. Corners show very minor wear. Leather boards have minimal cosmetic wear. Very minor nicks, or rubbing may be found upon close inspection. Please feel free to request additional photos if needed! Neo-Emotionalism – A Ten Year Retrospective. This is Fabian Perez’s third book published in 2013. It is composed of 328 pages and over 1,000 full color photographs of his paintings, editions, sculpture, studies, and pencil and pen and ink drawings. This hard cover book is dedicated to Fabian’s son Tiago. Compiles 10 years of Fabian Perez’s masterpieces. Fabian describes his style as Neo- Emotionalism, a movement that will be recognized by the Artist who, after creating their work will simply feel liberated and also by the viewer when they feel the creation in their heart. YOU ARE PURCHASING A USED BOOK. Please read the entire listing, and view all photos. Condition of used books will vary. Expected wear of a used book may include. Tears, cosmetic damage, bent pages/covers, stains, etc. In the event of significant damage Missing pages, Missing cover, Water damage etc. It will be stated in the book’s listing. I do my best to provide clear photos and detailed descriptions. However, descriptions are not all inclusive. I may overlook or miss minor wear and tear. If you have any questions about the item, please send a message. I can provide additional photos and answer any questions you may have BEFORE PURCHASING. Thank you so so much for looking!!

Translated by Samuel Beckett. Leather backed stamped cloth, with spine titled in gilt. 12 point Perpetua type on natural toned’Oxhead’ Van Gelder laid paper. 225 of 250 numbered and specially bound copies Signed by Beckett. Front of leather cover and front of paper slipcase are debossed with ZONE. The renowned Irish author Samuel Beckett translated Apollinaire’s famous poem Zone (1913), from French into English for this special Dolmen Press edition. Apollinaire’s experimental prose and poetry gave rise to many of the literary and artistic movements of the 20th century, including the modernist movement to which Beckett belonged. Both Apollinaire and Beckett’s work address the tragedy, comedy, and alienation of modern existence. In partnership with Beckett, The Dolmen Press issued this special printing of ZONE, printed on high quality laid paper with handset type and signed by Beckett himself. The Dolmen Press was an Irish fine press printing outlet founded by Liam Miller and his wife Josephine in 1951. The Press printed Irish poetry and literature using a small handpress. Each book had carefully designed page layouts, typography, and illustrations. The Press’s commitment to printing as a craft and its focus on Irish authors had a lasting influence on Irish publishing. The Dolmen Press publications, including the present copy, exemplify the rich culture and heritage of Irish craftsmanship, literature, and book design.
