With 119 photographic plates and 4 archaeological maps. Issued as a special publication of the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago, lavishly illustrated from aerial photographs of Iran. Photo printed cloth hardcover sleeve has very little in the way of wear, with spine having only some mild tanning/ sun staining. Book block is in good tight condition. Pages are excellent, close to pristine, with very little wear and features brilliant photographs, illustrations and overlays. Please see photos for condition. This is a handmade book published in the famous Publishing House Vigia, Matanzas, Cuba. All the handcrafted books published by Ediciones Vigia are very famous and highly collectable in the world. Each book is a work of art. This 2002 book is numbered 169 of 200 made (written in the keys) and is dedicated to all tye cities in the world. The book measures 9.5×12 inches and 150 pages, many of them with unique manual scrapping works. The Ediciones Vigía started in Matanzas, Cuba around late 1984 with musicians, writers, and composers. La Casa del Escritor provided a space where a group of volunteers started publishing limited editions of books under the name Ediciones Vigía in 1985. Bookmaking at Vigía involves everyone with editors contributing to the process as much as everyone else. They laminate, cover, cut, tie, glue, and write to make their handcrafted books. Vigía prides itself in its books. In the words of Charo Guerra, one of the founders, they are literary gold with a dose of human imperfection.
