Includes First edition out of print book with dedication signed by George Grammer. Regular Edition – Numbered 126/325 to 325/325. (This doll is #119/325) Only 125 signed book editions were made which means this is #119/125 (325). June Amos Grammer was not only a much-loved doll designer, but she was a gifted illustrator. Even more than that, June was a dear friend of Wendy Lawton. In her memory, they issued a very special edition, June Amos and Mary Anne. In 1983, June illustrated a beautiful edition of the poem, Mary Anne by Mary Mapes Dodge. The book, published by Lothrop, Lee and Shepard has long been out-of-print. Each detailed piece of clothing and each accessory has been painstakingly copied from June’s illustrations, bringing young June Amos and her doll, Mary Anne to life. June Amos stands 16 tall. She has a porcelain head and hands on a fully jointed wooden body. Mary Anne’s accessories include: Hand embroidered sacque, dress of French lace and Swiss batiste, high top pink boots, petticoat, underwaist, locket on a chain, hand-painted paper and wood fan, hat and parasol. The Certificate of Authenticity (COA)is missing. She has been kept in the box, in storage, ever since then. As expected, the eyes have turned to a shade of pink. The eyes can be replaced, if you so choose. Some collectors prefer not to replace the original eyes. I can find no other issues or concerns. First photo is a stock photo.
