Green boards with tan buckram spine. Deep green front and back endpapers with white silhouette spread of dancing ball attendees. Beautiful handmade leaves, generally very good, clean; several with enigmatic shadowing of illustrations from adjacent, preceding or verso. Rare tipped-in frontispiece present. Top of pages gilt. Illustrated throughout by Arthur Rackham in a unique silhouette style; features b&w and several silhouettes decorated in red, greenish/gold, and black. Includes one additional full-page illustration of Cinderella standing before a giant orange pumpkin that would become the carriage. Several full-page spreads over two pages. From the great Golden Age of Illustration in children’s literature comes this tale of Cinderella. 9″ by 11 ½”. Very nice original of this stellar work of art. Binding fine; hinges intact, lightly bumped corners and spine ends, with tiny area of paperloss to right upper corner with small area of blackish discoloration at top right corner of pages (see last image).
