Super deluxe numbered hardback limited edition of 50 in gold foil blue cloth slipcase including Silver Bromide Print on fibre 225gsm and signed certificate of authenticity. Print size: 304mm x 406mm. Comes protected in publisher’s gold foil card box. Derek Ridgers has photographed an array of youth and cultural movements in the UK, street, and alternative London club scenes. This is the first book published on Ridgers’ early photography that focuses on a single person as subject. This book comprises material taken from four photographic shoots with Nick Cave, when Ridgers was working as a freelance photographer and offering material to music press publications of the time. Taken from Ridgers’ archives and scanned directly from the original photographic transparencies this material has been printed by full colour lithography with the black and white also being run as full colour to obtain optimal results and high contrast. With this attention this is the best these photographs can be seen. The pages have been section stitched and hardback bound in a blue cloth with a rounded spine. There is a recessed tip in picture and the title has been gold foil blocked on the front and spine. There is an additional blind image in black on the back cover. Inside an obsolete traditional Heidelberg letterpress was employed to hole cut a perforation running down one of the pages.

The Red Books of Humphry Repton 4 cased volumes (1976) Limited edition
1976, The Basilisk Press. # 414 of 515 copies. Four cased volumes – 13 x 18.5, 3 – 12 x 8.75. Such is the reputation of this late 18th century English landscape designer that the. After observing Repton advocated a gradual transition between house and grounds by means of terraces, balustrades, and steps. He was influenced by the Picturesque movement, which admired wild landscapes, cites this limited edition work in the entry. Based on the “red books” (red Moroccan bindings) that he provided clients, three of his greatest achievements are here– Antony House, Attingham Park and Sheringham Hall. Included are facsimiles of his hand-written pages and watercolors, featuring a delightful “before-and-after” feature– tuck-in overlays. The final volume, by Edward Malins, contains B&W photographs of these great houses and grounds. Boards are Swedish hand-marbled in red/brown/white with a leather quarter spine with gilt lettering. Pages are of specially mould made rag wove English paper. This is a NEAR FINE set, only because of scuffing along heel of the Attingham volume and final volume (which shows slight spine color fade). The sturdy brown case shows some scraping along the bottom front and and corners and some discoloration along the back edge.
