A concise yet intriguing work exploring the possibility that William Shakespeare had hands-on experience in the printing trade. Jaggard, a descendant of William Jaggard-the printer of Shakespeare’s First Folio-analyzes Shakespeare’s texts to identify a significant number of printing and publishing terms. He argues that this linguistic evidence suggests Shakespeare may have worked in a print shop, potentially that of his ancestor. The book includes a master list of such terms and their contexts within Shakespeare’s works. Some marks on the cover, front and back. Some scuffs on the corners.
