Rare 1st/1st White's Books Fine Edition Sonnets And Poems, William Shakespeare
An incredibly rare find. A near fine, untouched edition from White’s Books’ 2008 limited pressing of this classic. The only condition remarks concern very very light shelf wear. The book is tightly bound, unread and difficult to photograph internally. A small print run collection of classic literature – very popular with collectors and increasingly difficult to find now. Each book is bound in cloth and features unique wraparound artwork by different contemporary artists – working under the brief of designing a non-repeating narrative pattern. The books are largish hardbacks with Smyth-sewn pages; they use thick, acid-free paper and the top edges are colour-stained; and they include a bound-in ribbon bookmark. Internally, the books have illustrated endpapers (an inverted version of the cover design) and a decorative title page, and the text is elegantly typeset in Monotype Haarlemmer, and right-facing pages are joined to the overleaf by a catchword: an older practice wherein a hanging word at the bottom of the page provides the opening of the following page (intended to assist with reading flow). Best of luck with any offers, but clearly priced to sell quickly &####128077.

4 franklin press high quality editions. Lyrical Poets: Coleridge and keats. Michael de montagne :selected essay. Henry fielding -Tom jones. Thomas mann _ The magic mounain. All books are in generally very lean good shape.. However the Shakespeare and Thomas man books have some gold gilt edge loss… I think these are all considered quarter leather. These Books are very heavy and cost around 20 pounds each used.. So a good deal here.

William Shakespeare (26 April 1564 23 April 1616) was an English playwright, poet, and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world’s greatest dramatist. He is often called England’s national poet. And the “Bard of Avon” (or simply “the Bard”). His extant works, including collaborations. Consist of some 39 plays. Two long narrative poems. And a few other verses, some of uncertain authorship. His plays have been translated. Into every major living language. And are performed more often than those of any other playwright. They also continue to be studied and reinterpreted. This set is the second edition of Shakespeare’s works edited by Alexander Pope. In the first edition, completed in 1725, Pope’s extremely liberal emendations to the Works elicited Lewis Theobald’s reprimand in. Shakespeare Restored: or, a Specimen of the Many Errors.
