A first limited edition copy of this work by Henry Williamson. This edition was limtied to five hundred and four copies, with this being numbered 331. Signed by the author. The Village Book is a collection of fifty five stories illustrating the spirit of the village in Winter and Spring and the air and light of the fields and the sea in winter and spring. Henry Williamson was an English writer who wrote on themes of nature, ruralism and English social history. With a frontispiece of the author with his two spaniels. In quarter vellum binding with green cloth covered boards. Externally, very smart with some fading to the rear board and some marks to the spine. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Some pages remain unopened. Fine – Very well preserved copy showing very little wear. Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy. Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones. Often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy. Meaning not very good. Some more serious faults as will. Be described in the condition report under’condition. Good Only – Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair. As with good only above but with other faults. Leaving a compromised copy even after repair. Really bad and possibly seriously incomplete.
