THE CHINERY COLLECTION: 150 YEARS OF AMERICAN GUITARS LTD EDITION NEW HARDBACK BOOK & SLEEVE. You may well have been looking for this – I was lucky enough to have more than one of these come into my possession and this one has been sitting on a bookshelf for some time, while I thought about what to do with it. Scott Chinery was a major figure in the vintage guitar world, a collector known to have sought out only the finest quality guitars. In November 2021 his blue guitar collection went up for sale – if you want to do a google search for “Scott Chinery’s blue guitar collection” there are lots of articles about it. Still in its original outer film – although I cannot accurately describe it as “sealed” as the film on the bottom edge has gone – the only defect/ reason that it does not look “straight out of the shop” is that the outer hard slipcase has picked up some sun damage along its bottom and spine edges, which has made the grey colour turn to a light blue colour (pictured). This sun bleaching is apparently (as seen in other listings) a feature of many of these 6000 copies – maybe this happened in storage soon after they were published?
