Aleister Crowley believed himself to be the reincarnation of Eliphas Levi and and Egyptian Priest called Ankh-f-n-Khonsu. Levis work’The Key of the Mysteries’ was regarded by Crowley as a masterpiece, in fact as the work of an adept so advanced as to credit Levi with the grade of Adeptus Exemptus. “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law”. HOLY BOOKS OF THELEMA. As originally published by Aleister Crowley and arranged according to the curriculum of study within the Order. Complete in six volumes quarter leather and blue linen, each book measures 230mm x 175mm with the’THELEMA’ design on the front covers measuring 156mm x 93mm. These special editions of the Holy Books of Thelema are being issued as six volume sets. The first three volumes are based upon Aleister Crowleys own first edition issued in 1909, the fourth volume contains other Holy Books not issued in the first edition, whilst volume five is a complete text of the Book of the Law suitable for both private and Temple use. The sixth volume is a reproduction of the important’Cairo Stele 666′ by noted Egyptologist Terence Du Quesne which analyses the original artifact held at the Boulaq Museum in Egypt. Originally the volumes of’THELEMA’ were issued one at a time as the aspirant progressed through the successive grades of the Outer College of the Order, we maintain this tradition today. We have kept much of the presentation and layout of the original 1909 edition of’THELEMA’, adding those further Class A documents (eight additional in our volume 4, plus a ninth additional in our volume 5) in uniform bindings, this is the only complete and authorised edition of the Holy Books of Thelema in print. With volume 5 we see Liber XXXI (The Book of the Law) printed side by side with its own transcription, the line arrangement of the type closely resembles the original manuscript providing the reader with a useful and unique experience at such times as the reading of the verses during the three days of revealing of the Book of the Law. Liber Liberivel Lapidis Lazuli. Liber B vel Magi. Liber Tzaddivel Hamus Hermeticus. Liber Arcanorum??? ATU??? TAHUTI QUAS VIDIT ASAR IN AMENNTI. Liber A’ASH vel Capricorni Pneumatici. Liber Tau vel Kabbalae Trium Literarum. Liber AL vel Legis – Temple Edition. Cairo Stela 666 being the important rare study of the Stele of Revealing by noted Egyptologist Terence DuQuesne. “Love is the law, love under will”.

An opulently illuminated gem of Flemish Renaissance book illumination for an unknown patron: 63 breathtakingly beautiful full-page miniatures and 350 vibrant borders by four important Bruges masters. One of the outstanding jewels in the collection of the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge: the so-called Fitzwilliam Book of Hours. This masterpiece is a manuscript created in Bruges at the beginning of the 16th century, which features 63 full-page miniatures. These are impressive in their high-quality execution and varied design. Four important painters were involved in the execution. And every viewer will immediately realize that this must have been the work of a high-ranking – albeit unknown – patron. An impressive work from the heyday of Flemish book painting! A total of 63 full-page miniatures are spread over the 370 pages of the Fitzwilliam Book of Hours. These are surrounded by beautiful borders and make this valuable manuscript something special. In addition, each page of text is decorated with a border filled with floral ornamentation and the like. Varied colored initials round off this homogeneous visual impression wonderfully. Michael, the so-called Master of Add. 15677 should be mentioned in particular ; he takes his name from a manuscript attributed to him in the British Library.

Language of Commentary: German. ABOUT THE ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPT. Made in France around 1510, the Barberini Book of Hours for Rouen is a colorful and multifaceted example of private devotional book decorated in a style between late Gothic and northern Renaissance. Its over 100 parchment folios boast 17 full-page miniatures, 44 illuminated scenes, and almost 200 borders glowing with the most exquisite floral and architectural motifs. The Latin codex, penned in Gothic bastard script, contains a book of hours in the use of Rome and a calendar for Rouen written in French. All borders are adorned in multiple styles ranging from late Gothic – geometric shapes filled with crosses, hearts, and fleur-de-lis – to Renaissance – architecture elements, fountains, heads. Marvelously decorated initials enriched with gold leaf and outlined in black on intense blue ground mark the beginning of psalms, readings, and prayers. The rubrics, also penned in blue, and the sepia brown text, enhance the folios’ elegance, together with innumerable line-fillers decorated in blue, brown, and burnished gold. Some of the decorated initials are large and feature flower and acanthus motifs. When the library was included in the Vatican Library, the Book of Hours was added to its collection.

Bridget Collins “The Binding” & “The Betrayals”. Brand New Copies (never read). Hardcover/Dust Jacket in Mylar protective cover. Goldsboro Exclusive Limited Editions. Matching #249/250 for The Binding, #249/750 for The Betrayals. Digital Pattern Sprayed Front Edges (The Betrayals). Excellent new copies of these two books from Goldsboro. Books are dangerous things in Collins’s alternate universe, a place vaguely reminiscent of 19th-century England. It’s a world in which people visit book binders to rid themselves of painful or treacherous memories. Once their stories have been told and are bound between the pages of a book, the slate is wiped clean and their memories lose the power to hurt or haunt them. After having suffered some sort of mental collapse and no longer able to keep up with his farm chores, Emmett Farmer is sent to the workshop of one such binder to live and work as her apprentice. Leaving behind home and family, Emmett slowly regains his health while learning the binding trade. He is forbidden to enter the locked room where books are stored, so he spends many months marbling end pages, tooling leather book covers, and gilding edges. But his curiosity is piqued by the people who come and go from the inner sanctum, and the arrival of the lordly Lucian Darnay, with whom he senses a connection, changes everything. If everything in your life was based on a lie. Would you risk it all to tell the truth? At Montverre, an exclusive academy tucked away in the mountains, the best and brightest are trained for excellence in the grand jeu: an arcane and mysterious contest. Léo Martin was once a student there, but lost his passion for the grand jeu following a violent tragedy. Montverre has changed since he studied there, even allowing a woman, Claire Dryden, to serve in the grand jeu’s highest office of Magister Ludi. When Léo first sees Claire he senses an odd connection with her, though he’s sure they have never met before. Both Léo and Claire have built their lives on lies. And as the legendary Midsummer Game, the climax of the year, draws closer, secrets are whispering in the walls.

Penitential prayer book by Albrecht Glockendon for Johann II von Pfalz-Simmern – Limited Edition Facsimile, Fine Binding. Published 2010 by Faksimile Verlag – Lucerne, in a limited edition of 980 (this copy is number 640). Facsimile reproduction of the entire original document that is as accurate as possible (size, format, color). 52 pages / 13.8 × 9.9 cm. As with many medieval manuscripts, the original binding has not been preserved. Probably in the 18th century, the work was bound in dark brown leather, which was imitated for the facsimile edition. Gold embossing was applied to the front and back. The book block has a gold edge on three sides. A hand-stitched headband adorns the head and foot section of the book. Commentary volume by Ulrich Merkl (Language: German). Together presented in a beautiful leather case made of brown cowhide, with a window. The penitential prayer book by Albrecht Glockendon for Johann II von Pfalz-Simmern is a special gem from the genre of hourly or devotional book. It arose in the transitional period between the Middle Ages and modern times, and is one of the last highlights of book illumination before the triumph of printing. The text focuses primarily on the biblical story of David and Bathsheba, chronicling the events from the fall of the Israelite king to his redemption through repentance. It is adorned with 9 large miniatures, some taking up a whole page, and 19 ornate initials. The Old Testament story is brought into the Renaissance by depicting the figures in 16th-century fashion and architectural settings. The illuminator Albrecht Glockendon was one of two famous sons of the progenitor of the Glockendon dynasty, Georg Glockendon the Elder. Albrecht was an experienced and talented illuminator who very consciously created his own unmistakable style, presumably to set himself apart from his brother Nikolaus. In a courageous act, he dispensed with the realistic effects that were customary at the time, deliberately opting for the opposite, namely reduction and abstraction, supported by extraordinary colour effects. Nevertheless, he commissioned one of the last truly masterful illuminated manuscripts as a gift for his youngest son, which was created around 1532/33.
