We are extremely delighted and excited to offer this complete set of Winnie The Pooh First Editions in their Leather Bound Editions. Two in blue leather and two in green. All Four Original Books From The’Winnie The Pooh’ Quartet By A A Milne Printed by Methuen & Co between 1924 -1928. Including 2x First Edition First Prints, House at Pooh Corner and Now We Are Six. All in varying degrees of condition but a wonderful set of rare and highly desirable books. When We Were Very Young: Methuen, London 1924 1st edition, 10th print, 2nd Deluxe Binding. Bound in blue leather. Slight rubbing to spine and corners with fading to the spine and block fading to the front cover. Previous owners label on the first paste down endpaper. All pages present and very uniform still with no inscriptions elsewhere. Gilt remains extremely bright along all three page edges and gilt decoration on cover and spine too remains bright. A very good copy with minimal wear to the outside and extremely good interior. Good copy of a very rare book. Winnie The Pooh: Methuen, London 1927 1st edition, 5th print, 2nd Deluxe Edition. Immediate signs of wear to the bottom of the spine, best description is the photographs. Rubbing to the edges of the boards and marking around the gilt decoration on the front. No inscriptions inside and all pages remain present, uniform, bright and clean. Pictorial endpapers depicting 100 Akre wood in very good shape. Gilt page edges remain very bright on all three edges but faded on the spine. Binding is a little loose in the very centre of the book but nowhere else. A very good copy internally and a good copy externally. Now We Are Six: Methuen, London 1927 1st edition, 1st Print, 1st Deluxe Edition. Has had water damage so the whole book opposite the spine has become a little wavy. It has also caused the endpapers to become stuck down and the leather dye to have seeped through some pages. That aside, this book is in extremely good condition. Leather binding whole and complete and remarkably bright. The gilt decoration on the cover and spine are in excellent condition too. Gilt page edges have faded a bit. All pages present and uniform aside from the endpapers no other pages have become stuck to each other. All illustrations remain intact and bright. Binding is a little loose in places with block pages starting to come away. Without the water damage it would be a near fine copy of a highly collectable and rare book. The House At Pooh Corner: Methuen, London 1928 1st edition, 1st Print, first Deluxe Edition. This has had the same damage as Now We Are Six except it is in much better condition. The front endpapers aren’t stuck down and the ink has not seeped through anywhere near as much. Even the wavy pages are significantly lessened to an almost normal level. There is a small inscription on the title page. But again, aside from the unfortunate damage, the book is in extremely good condition with no wear or age damage at all. A very good copy.
